Dr. Guido Beckmann studied Electronic Engineering at the Technical University of Braunschweig. Industrial communication technologies have always been one of his peculiar interest. Today he is part of the EtherCAT Technology Group (ETG) team and promotes and supports the worldwide usage of EtherCAT in all kind of applications.
While working for a leading drive manufacturer he became project manager for the development of drive-integrated safety functions and an expert for functional safety. Within ETG he is now responsible for the support of Safety over EtherCAT, which combines both topics – communication and safety.

Yves has more than a decade of experience and expertise in Automation technology and Real Time Systems, after starting his career working for a Taiwanese IPC manufacturer. His knowledge covers a lot of areas, from industrial communication standards, such as EtherCAT and OPC UA, to motion standards like PLC Open Motion Control. He deeply initiated and created the KINGSTAR product line, a Machine Automation Software Platform for Industry 4.0. As the architect of KINGSTAR, he regularly travels to around the world to meet with machine builders and OEMs.
He is also involved with ETG, PLC Open, CiA and other automation groups. Yves holds a Master of Science Degree in Automation and Industrial Computer Science from France ENSEEIHT (National Institute of Engineering in Electrotechnology, Electronics, Computer Science, Hydraulics and Telecommunication).

Oliver Fels graduated from Furtwangen University at Schwenningen as a Medical Engineer (Dipl.-Ing.) and has been employed by Beckhoff Automation since 2007.
He works full time for the EtherCAT Technology Group (ETG) at ETG Headquarters in Germany in the area of Technology Marketing and as a member of the ETG Marketing Committee. Serving as a speaker for ETG at the EtherCAT seminar series worldwide.

Dr. Robin Theunis earned his  Master of electronics & ICT engineering technology degree at Thomas More university college in 2013. From 2013 to 2018 he studied for his PhD at ESAT-MICAS KU Leuven. He graduated with his PhD thesis in engineering technology from the faculty of Engineering Technology at KU Leuven in 2019. His PhD was titled “Wireless indoor ranging systems”. In 2013 he started elecgator where he currently is managing development and prototyping of custom electronics.
The partly lecturing in his field of interest at KU Leuven, which he started during the studies for his PhD, are still continuing today, because he finds it important to share his experience from the field with future masters in electronics.
