Karl Weber receives IEC 1906 Award!

09/2022 | EtherCAT Technology Group is happy to announce, that IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) presented Karl Weber with the prestigious “1906” Award for his many years of dedicated service to the IEC.

The name of the award commemorates the year the IEC was founded. The rationale for the selection reflects his valuable contribution to the IEC Fieldbus standards: “In recognition for his contribution as an exceptionally productive member of the Working Group IEC TC 65/SC 65C/WG 9 and its predecessor Working Groups for more than 20 years. He currently carries with excellence the role of editor of IEC 61158-2, the fieldbus part which integrates into a single huge document the physical layer specifications for most technologies participating in the fieldbus series, and one of the most challenging parts of the series revision cycle.”
