The research focus of the Institute of Applied Microelectronics and Computer Engineering is on a number of areas. The activities in the field of broadband subscriber access networks include, for example, the use of peer-to-peer technologies and the increase of security of networks and users. A larger number of associates research algorithms, technologies, and applications of wireless sensor networks, such as localization, energy-conscious and self-organizing communication or context-based resources. An important research area deals with increasing the robustness of integrated circuits concerning efficiency and energy consumption. Another research area addresses application-oriented embedded systems, which usually base on freely programmable logic devices, also known as FPGAs.
