Institut für Produktentwicklung (IPEK),
Fakultät für Maschinenbau,
Karlsruher Institut für Technologie (KIT)

IPEK – Institute of Product Engineering is a research facility at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). The field of research is scientific product development and innovation with a focus on drive systems and mobility. A key aspect is the development of model based and experimental product validation methods, which are applied to different cases such as the identification of dynamic phenomena and their causes in the vehicle, the analysis of energy efficiency measures or the examination of dry and lubricated friction systems within complex drive systems.

Institut für Elektroenergiesysteme und Hochspannungstechnik (IEH),
Fakultät für Elektrotechnik und Informationstechnik,
Karlsruher Institut für Technologie (KIT)

The Institute of Electric Energy Systems and High-Voltage Technology (IEH) is an institute of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). It is working in the field of power engineering on grid components as well as on system level in order to investigate innovative solutions to transform the energy supply system. Its activities range from HVDC system design aspects for transmission grid applications to provision of spinning reserve from wind power systems and battery storage applications in the distribution grid. Research projects at IEH are carried out in modelling and simulation frameworks as well as testing the developed new concepts in test environments scaling from typical university labs to real world labs and even in the grid of distribution system operators.
