Control Engineering
Faculty EE-Maths-CS (EEMCS)
University of Twente

The University of Twente, founded in 1961, originally a technological university, now also has biomedical, business and social topics, all focusing on technology in wider sense. Within the faculty of EE-Math-CS the research group Control Engineering, effectuating the ETG membership, deals with mechatronics and robotics. Model-based design and distributed embedded control systems are subtopics relevant for ETG.

Surgical Robotics Lab (SRL),
Department of Biomechanical Engineering (BE),
Faculty of Engineering Technology (ET),
University of Twente

The research of SRL focuses on developing novel techniques to reach challenging locations within the body. To design a range of flexible minimally invasive surgical instruments and microrobotic systems, and robotically control them using various clinical imaging modalities such as ultrasound, computed tomography and magnetic resonance images. SRL is composed of an interdisciplinary team of engineers from diverse backgrounds (Mechanical, Electrical, Biomedical, Applied Physics, and Technical Medicine). They closely collaborate with their clinical partners at University Medical Center Groningen, Radboud University Nijmegen Medical Center, and Medisch Spectrum Twente.

Techno Center for Education and Research (TCO)
University of Twente

The Techno Center for Education and Research (TCO) contributes to the education and research of the University of Twente by developing, manufacturing and maintaining experimental set-ups, prototypes and instruments. TCO is a unique group of experienced and motivated top technicians.
TCO helps the researcher in the translation from scientific problem to practical product. Broad technical support is provided in the fields of mechanics, electronics, (process) automation, vacuum technology, helium recovery and glass processing. The support ranges from all sorts of quick-service oriented projects to the design and realization of complete research setups and projects.
