ESI best practice – a closer view on the ESI file and selected parts of the EtherCAT slave device description
The ESI is the XML-based device description of EtherCAT slave devices. It contains descriptions of the features and properties of the device, from process data configuration to the physical ports of the device. This slide set explains selected topics of the ESI in detail and shows examples of how to make correct use of the related elements and attributes.
