Thomas Waggershauser appointed Chairman of the ETG Marketing Committee

Thomas Waggershauser, Managing Director of acontis technologies, has been elected Chairman of the EtherCAT Technology Group (ETG) Marketing Committee (MC). He succeeds Christoph Widmann, who chaired the committee from 2014. Members elected Waggershauser unanimously on October 21, 2026, in Nuremberg, Germany.

At the second ETG Marketing Committee meeting of 2026, Martin Rostan, Executive Director of the EtherCAT Technology Group, thanked Widmann on behalf of the committee for his long-standing commitment to the Marketing Committee and his continued support of ETG activities.

The ETG Marketing Committee serves as a forum for discussing and aligning the organisation’s global marketing activities. Its agenda includes national and international trade fair participation, roadshows, and current technology topics and their relevance to the global market. The committee meets twice a year.

Waggershauser was appointed Managing Director of acontis technologies at the beginning of 2026. Explaining his decision to accept the role, he said: “EtherCAT’s international adoption depends not only on strong technology, but also on effective exchange among the companies contributing to its development and application. As Chairman of the ETG Marketing Committee, I look forward to supporting this exchange and helping to communicate the relevance of EtherCAT to automation professionals worldwide.”
