The University of Arizona College of Science's Steward Observatory supports the development, building, testing, and operation of advanced astronomical telescopes, instrumentation and facilities for both ground-based and space-based research. The research conducted at Steward Observatory spans the breadth of the fields of astronomy and astrophysics. Our faculty, staff, postdoctoral fellows and graduate students are involved in the construction of astrophysical models, the design and fabrication of mirrors and other optics, and the direct observation of stars and galaxies through some of the world's most advanced telescopes.
