Cory Meijneke, is a design engineer at the Electronic and Mechanical Support Division of the Delft University of Technology, The Netherlands. He received a bachelor degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Applied Sciences Utrecht in 2008. Then, he started a full-time employment as a technician at TU Delft, where he focused on design of bio-inspired robotic hands and lower-limb exoskeletons.
In addition, he studied part-time at the TU Delft, specializing in biomechanical design, which resulted in a master’s degree in mechanical engineering in 2013. Afterwards, Meijneke kept working at the TU Delft as a design engineer and project manager. His skillset and passion lie in design of lightweight, compact and wearable mechatronic systems, especially the actuators. Meijneke leads a team of electronic and mechanical engineers and technicians. Danny is an enthusiastic, graduated MSc in engineering, specialized in systems and control, with broad interests in mechanics, electronics and physics. Growing up on Goeree-Overflakkee, where family and friends are extremely important, has made him a social person that communicates pretty easily. He considers himself highly motivated to take that extra step in reaching the goal and always eager to learn new skills and use cutting edge technologies.
During his studies he has proven to learn fast, which gave him the opportunity to participate in quite some extra projects and still being able to finish his studies within the appropriate time. For example, he set-up his own minor and bachelor thesis and was treasurer of the honours program board. He enjoys working in multidisciplinary teams and sharing knowledge, but also in a setting where individual decisions and responsibilities need to be taken. Strong analytic skills and creativity were required for finishing my master thesis about non-verbal communication in robotics. An internship at Festo improved both his theoretical and practical skills by creating new stereo vision algorithms on an embedded platform.
