EtherCAT Slave Modul

The IXXAT EtherCAT Slave Modul represents a very flexible and powerful solution for the implementation of EtherCAT slave functionality in devices such as drives, I/O modules or encoders. The module provides a complete EtherCAT Slave device based on the EtherCAT IP Core (from Beckhoff) for Altera FPGA and the EtherCAT Slave Sample Code running on a NIOS II processor in the FPGA.

The IXXAT EtherCAT Slave Modul disburdens the application processor of the device and provides all necessary EtherCAT functions either using a serial peripheral interface or a microcontroller interface. Configuration, data exchange and control of the module takes place from the application processor using a uniform API. A baseboard is available as a supplement to the EtherCAT Slave module providing the power supply and peripherals necessary for the evaluation of the module as well as a connection to an application processor.

Beside EtherCAT other industrial Ethernet protocols are also supported.
