AS-i 3.0 EtherCAT Gateways in Stainless Steel

The AS-i 3.0 EtherCAT Gateways in Stainless Steel serve to connect the Actuator-Sensor-Interface to a hierarchically higher EtherCAT network. The Gateway acts as a complete Master for the AS-i and as slave for EtherCAT. As all AS-i 3.0 Gateways from Bihl+Wiedemann the AS-i 3.0 EtherCAT Gateways offers diagnostic capabilities which go far beyond the AS-i standard such as:

• Recognition of duplicate AS-i addresses
• Integrated AS-i Earth Fault Detector
• Integrated AS-i Noise detector

The AS-i 3.0 EtherCAT Gateways are not only available with 1 AS-i Master or with 2 AS-i Masters but also with integrated Safety Monitor. The AS-i 3.0 EtherCAT Gateway with integrated Safety Monitor combines the advantages of the AS-i 3.0 Gateway with the properties of the Safety Monitor such as:

• System status and detailed diagnostics are displayed in plain text on-site on the device.
•  Commissioning of AS-i Safety networks is simplified: All safety code sequences can be entered on-site using the display and function keys; no PC necessary.
• Designed as an AS-i 3.0 slave the monitor transmits all diagnostic values to V 3.0 Masters and application program.
• Program exchange via memory cards considerably simplifies device replacement and serial production.
• Programming/configuration through well-known ASIMON software.
• Multiple Safety at Work networks can be safely coupled through simple monitor-to-monitor connections or through the Multimonitor (up to 31 networks.)
• Available with two or up to 16 release circuits
• Coupled networks can be started simultaneously.
• Supports safe Safety at Work outputs, permits switching remotely without additional wiring.
• All switch outputs are designed acc. to Cat. 4/SIL3: Errors can be avoided.
• Power for the monitors is supplied, situation dependent, by AS-i, by a second connected AS-i network, or by a separate 24 V supply.
• The new monitors are downward compatible to monitors of the first generation. Therefore, they can be used as a replacement or for error diagnostics.
