11 Years of EtherCAT Technology Group

Abstract

Fieldbus systems play a crucial role within the control architecture: fast controllers only make sense with fast bus systems. But performance is not the only thing that matters. This presentation shows briefly how EtherCAT and ETG evolved and highlights some activities of the group. It takes a different look at fieldbus market studies and addresses the criteria for considering EtherCAT to be a world standard.
