Delta Robot Pick and Place (in inglese)

Riassunto: The Trio MC4N mini EtherCAT master is suited to a large range of applications. An example which shows the power of this motion controller is the Delta Robot pick and place system. EtherCAT is used for the control of 3 servo motors on the robot and one servo motor running the conveyor. A digital camera is also connected to capture the position of objects placed randomly on the conveyor. High accuracy is required and full use of the EtherCAT Touch Probe to capture the product position is made. EtherCAT provides a convenient, high performance and cost effective solution.

Geoff Dixon
Geoff Dixon graduated with an HND in Electrical and Electronic Engineering in 1979. After working in industry, designing hardware and software for machine controls for 15 years he has since been at the centre of customer technical support for Trio. Experienced in many different digital bus technologies and their application, Geoff has a strong background in the EtherCAT venture at Trio Motion Technology.

Benjamin has a degree in Electronic Engineering from University of Malaga, Spain and has studied Automation at the University of Skövde, Sweden. He works alongside the technical support group at Trio, specialising in Robotics and communications.
