Pneumatic drives and serial transmission

Abstract This brief SMC presentation deals with the big advantages of integrating a serial interface instead of a parallel interface when switching valves and other peripheral devices.

Patrick Gijbels Patrick Gijbels studied Industrial Engineering in Electromechanics in Belgium and received his Diploma Degree in 1996. He began as Technical Support Engineer in several electromechanical oriented enterprises. After this he became a teacher in a technical school where he taught electricity, mechanics, pneumatics and hydraulics. Since 2009 he works for SMC as a Technical Trainer for custumors as well as SMC sales force. He is also involved in Energy Saving Projects and gives technical backup for safety systems in pneumatics.
