Abstract |
When producing customer-specific pipes and connection elements, the different production steps require different drive technology and control performance.
The presentation will show how the flexible use of an application drive can offer the required functionality and performance in a cost-efficient manner if it is connected to a powerful bus system, such as EtherCAT. |

Dipl.-Ing. Michael Strauss is product manager for fieldbus interfaces and components for industrial communication at SEW-EURODRIVE headquarters in Bruchsal, Germany.
He is teacher for communication systems at the Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University Karlsruhe.
Since 2005, Michael Strauss has been chairman of the Marketing Committee of the EtherCAT Technology Group.
